    \"\"The Kenya Parliamentary Human Rights Association (KEPHRA) is a cross-party caucus of current and former Members of Parliament committed to advancing and safeguarding human rights in Kenya. Established in 2013, KEPHRA was born out of a recognition that parliaments are not only legislative chambers, but also powerful platforms for shaping how rights are defined, protected, and lived by citizens.<\/p>

    Our work is anchored in the conviction that human dignity, justice, truth, and integrity must remain at the center of governance. We strive to give life to these universal values within Kenya\u2019s unique cultural and historical context. By connecting lawmakers, political parties, government institutions, and communities, KEPHRA acts as a bridge between policy and people, ensuring that human rights are not only written in law but felt in daily life.<\/p>

    Over the years, KEPHRA has emerged as a trusted convener and thought leader on socio-cultural human rights, particularly for groups that have historically been excluded from decision-making. Women, youth, minorities, and marginalized communities remain at the heart of our work. We do this by strengthening legislation, enhancing state accountability, and opening political spaces where all voices can be heard.<\/p>

    Our advocacy has left a tangible mark: from the Protection Against Domestic Violence Act (2015), to contributions on the Refugees Bill (2016) and the Public Benefits Organizations (Amendment) Bill (2016). Beyond laws, we have championed bold civic initiatives such as the Green Amendment Campaign, which mobilized citizens to push for constitutional compliance with the two-thirds gender rule.<\/p>

    KEPHRA\u2019s identity is defined by this dual role\u2014working inside parliament to shape laws and policies, while standing with communities and civil society to hold institutions accountable. This rare positioning has enabled us to influence both the spirit and practice of democracy in Kenya, while building models of inclusive governance that resonate across Africa.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

To affirm and protect the universal values of human rights, truth, peace and social justice, human dignity and integrity in the context of Kenya\u2019s cultural and historical background. We will champion the development of policies and laws that promote state capacity to enhance human rights in Kenya.
