Recently, I had someone ask around within our company about our Group’s Vision. Surprisingly, not everyone was clear on what it was. So let me clarify: Our Vision is simple but powerful, “An Africa Built with Pride.” We are an African organisation, and our Vision is to Build not just buildings but communities and societies across the continent with Pride.
Our Mission is focused on one key aspect: To deliver Trusted Building Solutions that are made with pride & care to provide superior customer value. This means that we aim to be the most reliable supplier of Building Solutions in Africa. By prioritising quality and customer satisfaction, we ensure that every project we undertake leaves a positive impact.
We all have our values and it’s very important as a Group that we share our values. Our values define how we operate as a group:

Excellence: Striving for excellence in everything we do. Good enough is never enough.Partnerships for shared success: Building strong partnerships with colleagues, suppliers, and customers is essential.

We also have our four strategic pillars; These are Building Solutions whereby we continue delivering More Value to Customers. Next is People and Culture because, as I’ve mentioned, our people are our most valuable asset. We continuously invest in building on their capabilities and fostering a strong culture that supports our shared goals. It’s through our people that we can achieve all our objectives and continue to grow as a company.
Market channels are crucial because they determine how we reach our customers and ensure they can easily access our products, delivered at the best quality at the right price. To achieve this, we have Showrooms, Service Centers and an E-commerce platform that makes our products readily available to customers. The final pillar is Operational Efficiency, which we prioritise in our factories. We focus on improving our Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and minimising defects to ensure timely and reliable deliveries.
Acceleration Projects: Focus Areas for Growth
We have several acceleration projects lined up, including: Supa-Roof expansion which broadens our retail presence in South Africa. Dumuzas® growth enabling us to capture more of the residential market in South Africa. The Colour Line in Tanzania will enable us to drive growth in the colour market. Lastly is the Building Solutions & Export market, where we are expanding SAFBUILD®, our pre-engineered Buildings, SAFCOOL® our cold room solution and SAFSOLAR®. We are also now exporting to regions like South Sudan and Somalia.
Managing Competition & Ensuring Growth
Competition remains a key challenge. With increased players in the market, particularly in roofing, we must continue to focus on Building our brand and marketing to maintain our Competitive edge. We need to manage competition because that will secure our volumes. We need to drive the Value Sales side of the business as well. I believe our value sales are gradually strengthening, even though this growth is at a slower pace than we’d like. Currently, we’re generating a significant amount in value sales, but I see the potential for this to grow to even higher. Despite the slower progress, we’re seeing positive growth, which is encouraging.
And ultimately, we need to Service our Customers exceptionally. Moreover, ensuring that our manufacturing processes run smoothly, without disruptions, is critical for maintaining our product supply and meeting customer demands.
People: Our Greatest Asset
Finally, I want to emphasise the importance of our people. Our success depends entirely on them. By continuing to invest in and support our talented workforce, we ensure that we are equipped to meet challenges and seize opportunities as they arise.
In conclusion, while we have much work ahead, I am confident that by working together, focusing on our customers, and harnessing the strength of our people, we will realise growth and success.
